Portraits and nudes without a pretense to allegorical or mythological indicating were being a fairly widespread style of artwork through the Renaissance onwards. Some regard Francisco Goya's La maja desnuda of all around 1800, as "the main entirely profane everyday living-size female nude in Western art",[6] but paintings of nude females were not u
